Renton has a population of about 85,000. It is located slightly southeast of Seattle with much of it’s industrial area encompassing Lake Washington’s southern tip. It offers a great deal of industrial space, which makes it a “go to” area for businesses that need industrial zoning as well as optimum location. Situated at the busy freeways of SR-167, I-5 and I-405 Renton offers a very easy commute to and from the Seattle area as well as the Tacoma area.

Because of it’s location, industry and population, Renton is rapidly becoming a retail bonanza for such anchor stores as Fry’s Electronics, Ikea, Lowes, Target, Walmart, and Sam’s Club. A new headquarters for the Seattle Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is being built in the city. And there will be a new corporate headquarters and training facility for the Seattle Seahawks, which has been named the Virginia Mason Athletic Center located there.

Interestingly enough, it is estimated that over 91 languages (or dialects) are spoken in the Renton area. With such a vast diversification, you can just imagine the wonderful tasty treats that can cross your palette when you “dine out” in Renton.

Perhaps, you are more interested in natural beauty and getting some exercise as opposed to enjoying a meal inside! If that’s the case, then Renton will fill that need as well. You could take your loved ones on the 4.5-mile Cedar River Trail for an evening walk or Saturday family outing. There is also a 1.5-mile trail along the lakefront which offers people the option of many adjoining trails to vary their path as they walk along.

Renton offers culture as well a shopping and natural beauty. There is the Renton Civic Theatre and the Ikea Performing Arts Center. Renton’s Historical Museum might be of interest for an afternoon “fill in.”

Living in Renton gives you access to major highways, beauty, job potential, and a government with an eye on the future for it’s residents. As the city zones and clears the path for the growth of potential businesses, it changes to face of the city altogether. By utilizing the city’s obvious assets, it encourages big business to make it’s home within the city limits. Those who choose to make Renton their home will enjoy all the benefits that come with living in an area that is financially stable and economically focuses on the future.
