Seattle, of course, consists of a large metropolitan
area. It encompasses a huge geographic area as well as a population of over
3.5 million people. One of the ways that Seattleites distinguish area
locations is by saying the west side meaning “west” of Lake Washington
(which is truly Seattle proper) and the east side which indicates the “east”
side of Lake Washington. You’ll find where ever you might need to go from
where ever you live in the Seattle area easy by using surface streets,
freeways, ferries, along with floating and non-floating bridges. Bus lines,
commuter lanes, and Amtrak train service aid everyone in getting to their
destination in an organized manner. |

Any road you travel will bring you spectacular water views as well as
inspiring mountain peaks! Wonderful, lush green forests comprised of sky
scraping trees and natural fern undergrowth. Enjoy the exhilarating colors
of fall and whimsical energy of budding trees in the spring! Pick some wild
blackberries or use the rain as an excuse for a steaming cup of Starbucks
coffee. It’s all right here in the Greater Seattle Area. On the “west side” of the Seattle area, people talk about Ballard, Freemont, Green Lake, Greenwood, University District, Magnolia, Capital Hill and Queen Anne all of which are considered Seattle but very distinctive areas of the city. Most of these areas are made of older homes and reminiscent streets with some of the greatest views and access available.
The Elliot Bay waterfront in the heart of Seattle offers, wonderful condos in high rise buildings, easy city transit, and of course the beauty, interest, and ambiance of the large seaport that makes Seattle a truly great place. |

You’ll find more newer homes on the “east” side. Neighborhoods are primarily
just a few streets within a small city such as Kirkland, Bellevue, Redmond,
Woodinville, Issaquah, Sammamish, Duvall, Northbend, and Carnation. These
cities are all growing thriving cities within the Greater Seattle area. |

| East side, West side if it’s food you want, GOOD FOOD.....It’s all around
the town! Seattle is a culinary delight for people who LOVE good food. Many
of the restaurants in the area are award winning! Some restaurants have
views that take your breath away.... forget about the food for the stomach
.....the sights are a feast for the eyes! And don’t forget the cozy little
“hide-away” for a romantic table for two! They are everywhere! Oriental
fusion, French pastry, Old World Italian, Scandinavian smorgasbords, Thai
cuisine, and seafood better than the most elaborate brain can imagine all
surround you, every where you go! You could eat out every night for years
and not find the need to repeat one restaurant! And yes, all your favorite
fast food chains exist here as well. Live in an area because of the food?
Probably not, but when you add plenty of opportunity for employment,
excellent hospitals and medical personnel, excellent schools, a huge
assortment of outdoor activities, moderate climate, views in every
direction, and smiling, happy, energetic people for neighbors and
co-workers....well...the food is just a great big plus! |
