a must for a days outing! It’s easy to find, easy to park, and easy for
a family to enjoy. If you spend a day there, pack yourself a lunch!
There are plenty of benches, and open grass areas to utilize as you eat.
Of course, there are snack bars if you get to the zoo without any drinks

The animals have
“indoor” and “outdoor” areas to inhabit. It’s obvious that this
zoo has tried to make the animals feel very much at home. Their
“houses” are caves and sheltering trees as opposed to the old
planked “hen houses” that use to be prominent in the local zoo.
The park is laid out so that you can view the animals from many
different vantage points. If one viewing spot is filled with
curious sets of eyes, just walk on a few steps and there will be
another window or viewing point for the same set of animals.
Many of the exhibits host a variety of compatible animals which
heightens the enjoyment of the experience. |

Obviously
this zoo has been a part of the Seattle landscape for many
years. Old growth trees reach higher than the eye can view from
ground level. If you enjoy the study of plants you’ll love the
varieties that line the park trails and fill the play areas for
all of God’s creatures. It is a feast for the eyes and the
senses. Your walk through this park will delight you with
streaming sunlight and restful shade. It just doesn’t get any
better! |

| It’s especially wonderful
to experience all the children rushing to see the next animal. At the
Woodland Park Zoo, special care has been given to ensure that even our
“little ones” at the age 2 and 3 can see the animals without being
lifted up by Mom and Dad. |
